Position Summary

The Sterile Processing Technician performs duties and processes to provide centralized processing of instruments to provide quality and safe patient care. These duties are executed in such a manner, so as to be cost-effective, productive and efficient.



Core Duties and Responsibilities

--- Checks equipment for cleanliness, functional use; inventories and documents the quantity of each instrument per tray/container

--- Wraps trays and product for sterilization in accordance with current policies and procedures

--- Verifies sterilization procedures on the appropriate form for quality assurance

--- Cleans and reprocesses all equipment and OR instruments upon receipt using cleaning agents and chemicals in accordance with MSDS

--- Returns equipment to decontamination in a safe and sanitary manner



Minimum Requirements

--- SPD Technician Certification: CSPDT or CRCST or eligible

--- 6 months to 1 year of hands on work experience as a SPD Tech

--- Basic Computer Skills

--- Ability to Walk/Stand for Extended Periods with the Ability to Lift/Push/Pull

--- Strong Organizational/Interpersonal/Communication Skills
