Title : Data/Cloud Engineer

Location : New York, NY

Salary/Pay Rate: $175,000 - $275,000 per year + Bonus Schedule: Full-Time, Partially Remote

About the Client: People Placers Staffing is partnering with a $10 billion AUM hedge fund committed to developing state-of-the-art models and technology. They are building a cutting-edge, cloud-based data and machine learning platform to drive their investment and risk management decisions.

Job Description: The Data/Cloud Engineer will be responsible for the entire data engineering lifecycle. This includes design, implementation, performance tuning, and monitoring of data systems. The role involves working closely with the firm's database managed service provider (MSP) to manage and meet evolving data requirements.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 4-5 years of relevant experience in data engineering.
• Strong programming skills in SQL and Python.
• Proficiency in database administration.
• Experience migrating on-prem data to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Ability to design and implement efficient and reliable data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge of fixed-income or equity data and/or risk management.
  • Experience with technologies like Jenkins, NGINX, Celery, Octopus, TeamCity.
  • Experience with front-end technologies like JavaScript, TypeScript, React, or AG-Grid.
